fireisland.jpgby TLL061Comment: Not a bad shot, though I think you need to rotate the pic a few degress clockwise, unless this happens to be in Pisa, Italy. Straight horizons always help, and they're one of the easiest things to correct! |

Strobe Freakby JackoComment: I thought this may have been yours Jacko! I remember your shot from Impressionism, much the same idea. I bet you were seeing spots for days after shooting this! |

Solar Photography (Warning special filter used)by marboComment: Originally posted by nico_blue: It doesnt really look like the sun, more like an orange ball with some dirt on it. I dont really view this as ground breaking but rather as a bad photo... (sorry if my comment is offensive) |
Heh. Good thing you never went into astronomy.
Good show Mark! Unique picture with lots of appeal (especially to the geekier among us) |

The Seven Sistersby marboComment: Lovely shot of the Seven Sisters Marbo! Too bad not enough voters knew what they were - this should have been a ribbon for sure. |

General J.E.B. Stuart, Richmond, VA, USAby LindaLeeComment: I think this photo could have been so much more with better BG. Maybe some clouds or something to break up the monotony of the blue. Apart from that, compositionally wise it's a fine pic. Looking at the shadows, this was probably taken mid afternoon. Perhaps more towards sunset would help dramatize the lighting?
Off-topic: In this challenge there are landmarks from each of the three cities where I've lived. So far, the fondest memories are of Richmond, especially from down in the Fan - lived on Floyd Ave for many years. I still dream of roaming about at 3am on the hot summer nights there. Good luck in the challenge! |

Beachy Headby marboComment: Lovely photo of the seven sisters. I though about heading out to take a photo of them myself, but didn't. I did try St. Peter's church and the Pavilion, but couldn't get a good enough shot.
Anyway. enough rabbiting (ribbiting?) on about my failed attempts. Lovely composition, great tones, and a good choice for B&W. I wish there was more detail in the clouds and the far cliffs... 7 |

Susquehanna Valleyby cloudsmeComment: Damn. I didn't realize there were any Binghamtonian's on DPC. Not sure if I'd call this a Binghamton landmark, but it's a nice picture. Didn't realize the Mall could look that nice :) |

A Pale View Of The Hillsby e301Comment: You got robbed Ed. I love this for what it is and especially for how you managed to make it more than it is.
Brilliant! |
