I Like it, I've been playing around with a few local statues and still havent got one this good, nice job only thing I'd change would be prhaps a little fill flash to bring out the detail in his back foot/stirrup/horses belly. Still a good shot a 7 from me! (clicks away whistling Dixie) Mike

I'm put in mind of the estate agents mantra - I guess I should say Real Estate Agent, seeing as you are most likely american: location, location, location. For a competent and possibly quite tricky to take image, this tells me remarkably little I'm afraid. It's a cast bronze statue of some soldier, who doubtless had his moment of history (I could look him up, but I'm not going to). Beyond that ... I guess it just doesn't strike any chords for me.

I think this photo could have been so much more with better BG. Maybe some clouds or something to break up the monotony of the blue. Apart from that, compositionally wise it's a fine pic. Looking at the shadows, this was probably taken mid afternoon. Perhaps more towards sunset would help dramatize the lighting?

Off-topic: In this challenge there are landmarks from each of the three cities where I've lived. So far, the fondest memories are of Richmond, especially from down in the Fan - lived on Floyd Ave for many years. I still dream of roaming about at 3am on the hot summer nights there. Good luck in the challenge!

great job of captuing just the right amount of light on this to keep the sky color and most of the detail on the monument, clarity is nice here as well as your composition.

Nice crisp and clear shot. I'd score it higher if it had some creativity to the composition or angle.

i wonder who took this? nice composition. this is a tough one to get. the lighting tends to wash out the details. would love to see some of the other shots.

Nicely sharp - I just wish the face of the rider and horse weren't shadowed so much. I would like to see more details.
