Not At Allby GPComment: Voiding the challenge in the title doesn't do it for me. Even apart from that the shot doesn't hold that much anyway.Could have been average with rust in it - but I'll put this out of topic, sorry. |

Abandoned Padlockby darcyComment: Good work on the colors and focus. No bulls-eye on interest and composition, but still an appealing shot! |

abstractby rhipsterComment: Good one, whatever it is. Nice subtle border too. Had it been allowed, I'd cloned out the two small gaps. The top one steals my eye a bit.
Really rusty indeed! 8! |

En Pointeby jodiecostonComment: One of my favourites this round, with plenty of rust but with focus a bit off the rusty parts. Great composition and lightning. A ribbon hunter! |

Chains To Nowhereby jonrComment: Can't tell what it is but it's excellent use of shallow dof and you can't meet the challenge better than this. The subject isn't really that "interesting" though, however nice captured. No context. A good seven for me. |

Nature's Wrathby DamianComment: this image doesn't really work for me. The subject itself is not very nice or interesting and although I think you have a good focus point somewhere, it's in the middle of the most unappealing part. The composition seems too centered and zoomed in - "in your face" so to speak. I get a feeling of looking at a cropped out part of a larger image that might contain something to look at. Not this much rust was needed, it could have made it as a rusted element in a larger image which held some more general interest.
On the upside, yes you did get a focused shot that meets the challenge and colors are good, as is the use of border here.
Good luck! |

Rustedby shoffComment: I try to spend a few minutes ahead of shooting for a challenge about what everyone else probably will be shooting, and then avoid that. This round I came up with cars and chains. Now, personally I wound up with a car anyway but figured it's such a "nice find" it would pass the mass anyway.
Your chain on the other hand, doesn't. It's "just another chain", and although there's nothhing wrong with your picture, it has technical merits, great focus, is crisp and clear, has a good chain-angle and DOF that makes for a composition, it still strikes me as "just another chain".
Being only human I vote a lot on feeling and you would have scored higher from me (and most likely others) having been alone with the chain, perhaps in another challenge. I haven't voted you down in any way, I just couldn't bring myself to mark you up either. |

Long Term Parkingby gandersComment: Not sure if ti's an attempt to be interesting with the out of focus car, and frankly I'm not sure if it perhaps even is, but it leaves me wondering and with a feeling that it should have been in focus. There's nothing in the front car(?) to see.
I get a lot of these pictures myself with the aid of "focus on nearest object" autofocus and I rarely keep them. However the colors are nice and the composition is working even it is odd, so I'll leave you with an average score. |

Rusted Ruy Lopezby frychiknComment: Not at all sure what I'm looking at (apart from the obvious chess-board), but it's a pretty unappealing picture. However bad the image, you did get the title right though, and my next move would be Nd4. :) |

Rusted Ironboxby AllanComment: Funny how you even bothered to give this one a title. Going for the last spot? I think you might be on. |
