The curve of the metal is what catches the eye first, however the line of the curve leads the viewer out of the image. The exposure seems a little over done with the extremities of the curve blown out.
Diagonal lines can add tension and interest to an image however in this image they are fairly static since they are over powered by the bright metal.
Cropping to adjust the composition may have helped with the appeal of this image.
Keep shooting.
(remember photography is subjective and these are only my opinions)

Not at all on challenge. Not at all terribly interesting, either. The lines are okay, but the blemishes on the concrete spoil the abstract nature of this off-challenge shot. 1 |

Technically good photo, but has nothing to do with rusted. Taking a picture of the opposite of the challenge is a waste of voters time, please don't do it again.
Edit: And I'd rather people didn't private mail me during voting. Afterwards would have been fine. And just to let you know I'm not changing my vote in either direction.

Great combination of curve and straight, bright and dull. I think this failed to meet the challenge's call to create an image around somethign rusty, but in general it is an interesting picture. |

Interesting shot, though you lose points from me for not shooting something rusted. I don't know if it is better or worse that you allude to understanding the challenge in your title but still submit something off topic. On technical merits, I like the lighting on the metal, but the dirty, stained tiles detract from the image somewhat. |

This does not respond to the wording of the challenge. The sidewalk is unappealing, and the composition of the arc if I blur the background does not quite appeal.
A 2.

Voiding the challenge in the title doesn't do it for me. Even apart from that the shot doesn't hold that much anyway.Could have been average with rust in it - but I'll put this out of topic, sorry. |

It's a great photo of whatever it is. However, "lack of rust" wasn't one of the options in the challange. |

Nice geometrics, but I can't really see the connection to this challenge. Like the form, though. |

I can just imagine what your comments are like...
Obviously doesn't show any rust, seems a little overexposed at the bottom though. Can;t score you very high I'm afraid! |

There is no point of interest for me in this image. The textures might appear stronger if they were closer to the viewer, showing the grain/feel of the texture.

Not really seeing rust in this shot. The challenge is Rust...so I don't think you've met the challenge.Sorry. :(
I will say the metal in the stone tiles is interesting. ?Maybe a wider view would be of interest. I like the repetition of the lines. |

I understand your opposing view (NOT rusted) but I don't think it's a good challenge to try that on. still, I'll give you a 4 |

Sorry. Saying there is no rust doesn't work for me. Maybe if something told us what the picture is of, that would give a good reason for someone ensuring no rust ever encroached. |
