Hurry, I got to go!by SonifoComment: I reckon you'll get some comments about the washed out lighting at the top of this shot, but I like it...it makes the little girl all the more the focal point. I think this shot is just hysterical and perfectly captured. Black and white was a good choice. I gave you a 10. |

W a i t i n gby daisytxComment: Oh my gawd, this is just too cute for words. Animal shots are so difficult to capture just right, but I think you did a splendid job here. The lighting is great and the colors really pop. He's got the perfect "waiting" look and the great big leash on such a little puppy adds some fun interest. Nice composition. |

Waiting to grow up!by jeeptuningComment: I think if you cropped off the right side of this shot to off-center the little girl, it would improve the composition of this shot. I love the vividness of her outfit against the earthtones of her surroundings and that look on her face is priceless. I also like that she's holding the helmet since it fits to the challenge and doesn't make it look like you're just wedging a picture into the theme. The trash on the ground is a little distracting, but maybe that adds to the theme too. Surely this innocent little thing didn't make that mess. ;-) |

A Real Nail Biterby utopian mangComment: I would like this much better if the hand were in focus. The composition is good, I like the lighting, and the soft pink of her lips being the only color other than the flesh is a nice touch, but without using a proper depth of field to create a focal point, this turns out to be just an out-of-focus shot. |

Lost Childhoodby NeuferlandComment: Unfortunately, although your shot fits the challenge , I don't think it is one that benefits from the "centered subject" theme. My feeling is that the purpose of the challenge is to find a subject that feels better centered than if you were to offset it. With this picture, although the focus is good and the bright color of the grass is appealing, the stroller, especially coupled with your title, does not give me the sense of Lost Childhood as well as if it were the more typical "rule of thirds" composition. |

Newby MJENNIComment: I keep coming back to this one. Extraordinary. I love how the depth of field forces the eye to the focal point and the bright greens are such a nice contrast to the color of the birds. You captured a rare scene beautifully. Good luck! |

Island in the Fogby mariomelComment: This is absolutely beautiful. Great choice to use the sepia tones and I don't care what anyone else says about the framing, it makes the shot! IMHO, of course. Well done. Good luck. |

Sweet & Sourby Brooklyn513Comment: Perhaps a different surface texture and lighting to bring out the color of the fruit would make this a little more appealing. As is, it fits the theme but isn't as interesting to look at as it might be if staged a little differently. |

Black and Whiteby artvetComment: Ooh, I like this a lot except that the black kitty gets lost against the dark background. Is there anything that can be done with lighting to bring him out a little more? Otherwise, I love the way they are "posed", particularly the white cat and they're eyes being the only color in the shot is neat since (I assume) this is a natural phenomenon and not a trick of post processing. |

chessmenby MorbidAngelComment: If the lack of focus is intentional, it doesn't work at all, I'm afraid. Also, I think the idea of using a chess game to illustrate opposites is a good idea, but it might be more effective if the pieces were the more traditional black & white kind to bring the point home. The similar colors of the pieces and the shadows don't illustrate the theme as well as if there were more stark contrast. |
