Storm Rolling inby jxpfeerComment: Great desolate image here. I would comment on the lower left detail being included - I don't think it adds anything, but it definitely distracts me from the intended focal point which is the house on the "island". |

Silent Strollby AtlantaRockSceneComment: I would say this image works great for the assignment. The out of focus even works here. I would say that this is a successful image. When I first opened this image, I thought it would be a 1 or 2 for sure due to technical reasons, but the more I look at it - well now it's up to about a 6 or 7. I'll say good job on this one! |

when you are stuck in the past ...by sainazComment: Powerful image, but I can't say I think "desolation" with this. Lonely, depressed, desperate, hopeless are all words that come to mind from viewing this. |

Rotten Paintby A WeaverComment: Your use of high contrast here really works well. It gives the image a very stark and uninviting look. Nice entry for this assignment. |

trapped...by wetlandComment: Excellent entry. A key ingrident to a desolation image, in my opinion, is to have a lone subject that is dwarfed by its surroundings with a sense of depth and unendingness. This does it all. Your exposure is great, too. You've kept good detail in the shadows and kept some detail in the "sand?" towards the top. Is this a real landscape or a model? |

Abandonnedby orussellComment: Great exposure here with some nicely diffused toning. This definitely works for the assignment. Well done. |

Desolate for Milesby Chilly0999Comment: This definitely has a feeling of desolation - lone subject dwarfed by its barren landscape. Why so dark in the sky? this may be overdone and is slightly distracting, but the overall image is an excellent entry. |

for saleby ursulaComment: Very desolate feeling with this one due to the fog and the low tide. It would be interesting to see what this would have looked like without the rock "wall" in the image. Top marks for this entry. |
