Short Circuitby smokeditorComment: Wow! Very dramatic!!! I'd be interested to know how you did this - and got the timing right - AND how many lightbulbs you went through!! |

Yorkshire, United Kingdom by p_johnsComment: Originally posted by theSaj: Great shot...although I think the sky is the one aspect I don't really care for. Maybe it's the two-tone look of bluish cyan and white.

Great bridge.... |
Agreed! I didn't have a graduated nd filter to use and I couldn't use my two exposures as its using two images. If I'm wrong please someone tell me! It would make a lot of my exposures winners!! Check the difference between this image and the image available for print. |

Yorkshire, United Kingdom by p_johnsComment: Hi everyone! Thanks for all your fantastic comments - I think I'm going to need a couple of weeks for my head to return to normal size!!
I have submitted this image to DPC Prints for approval so it should be online shortly if you want to buy any prints, and I've made use of the fact that I can combine more than one image. I've taken the sky from a locked off shot of the same position with a darker exposure and when combined the sky doesn't look quite so 'wierd' as it does in my submission. I've also warmed the picture using Photoshop CS's warming filter. I'd be interested to receive some feedback if you think its better than my submission.
Once again thanks for the ribbon and for the compliments :)
PS You can view other pics of our holiday to Yorkshire at www.pbase.com/p_johns/yorkshire where there's some others I'm really proud of. Message edited by author 2004-09-13 20:16:36. |

Dock Your Boat on the Bear Riverby dsidwellComment: I really like this image, but when my eye was looking for a catching point it was led to the boat hook - and it doesn't add as a catching point to your image. If there had have been a boat that was moored to it I would have rated it much higher. You've also got a bit of a slant on your image. |

Quebec Cityby darixComment: You've taken this at the perfect time of day and the colors are sensational. My suggestion would be to have this shot without the wall - I don't think it adds much to your image. |
