This shot has an amazing ambiance to it. Being in B&W and overexposed really helps to convey a lot of feeling. It looks like a scene that could take place anywhere and to anyone and the posture of the guy on the right sort of gives it a melencholy feel. The only thing that I would like more is for the guy on the left in the sweatpants to be out of the frame as his prescence detracts a little from the feel of the other man. Well done.

Nice shot. Great exposure on the tower to put the couple into shillouette. Good job of "romantically" capturing the moment.

One of two excellent bar candids this week. As with the other submission, I really like this one in black and white, overexposed and somewhat grainy because so much emotion and atmosphere is created. I especially like the perspective and the closeness of this subject because it lets us see his features and his eyes and makes us wonder what he's thinking about (which is also helped by your title). Great shot.

I like this photo for its peaceful, laid back feel and the color balance between the water and foliage. The fishermen are nicely placed within the frame with a good amount of water showing to emphasize the tension of waiting for a bite. I think I would like to see slightly more saturated greens and maybe blue also. Plus, maybe reposition the shot so that less of the trees show at the top of the frame and a little more of the foreground water where the fisherman on the right is casting. Aside from the little wishlist, it's a very well done photo.

Nice. Has a very photojournalistic feel to it with lots of emotion. The guy in the center is perfect as the subject and couldn't be better positioned in the shot. His shirt is great for the photo because you can just make out "Destroy" and something ending in "ism" which could be a number of things but with everything else going in the photo almost any "ism" word you can think of could fit in with the tone of this image and make a powerful statement. The color is great too. Did you desaturate a little to get those muted tones? The only distracting part is the wall in the background. I'm curious to know what they were rallying for though. Would be great if there were a series of this.
* As I was typing this and looking at the image for 5 minutes I decided to bump the score up a bit because it becomes more inspiring the longer you look at it. Very well done!

Nice shot. The subject has a really great expression and she is well placed within the frame. Her eyes really draw me into the photo. I like this in black and white and even though some of the whites seem a little bright the image is well exposed. I really wish that she was the only person in the shot though because the guy with the turned head and the other im mid sentence kind of distract me from the main subject and to a lesser extent the dark cloth (?) on the left of the frame does too. Really good job with the subject though and the background has a nice texture.

I'll admit, I started laughing when I saw this because it does remind me of childhood ("Don't make me get my belt!). Although, I imagine you will get some negative comments from people taking a political stance and saying that capital punishment for kids is wrong or it seems to emphasize abuse. Hopefully people will think of it in light of the challenge though and keep their politics to themselves. Did you intentionally place the focus on the background and not the sillouette?
Good job of portraying the subject in a different manner.

Of all of the new car submissions this week, I liked this one the most. They are lined up perfectly and filling most of the frame with the forefront car really helps rather than trying to get as many cars as you can in the frame. Plus the curves of the Taurus further accent the image. Too bad you can't control the reflections of the other cars on the bumper.

This is cool. I like the perspective. Too bad you weren't a little higher up to get rid of the people at the bottom of the frame. For me, this may have worked a little better if it were framed vertically to get the pitcher's ful body in frame instead of just his legs and provide more depth (sense of where the ball will be going after hit).

This is definitely a fitting subject. I can almost feel the aprehension myself. The large open archway looks inviting but the shadow and darkness of the archway still make it look scary (in the mind of a 6 year old, that is).
