maldivesby whiteroomComment: allright, comment from me.
I really like reflection pictures these days, taking them and looking at them so this one hit the spot. I think it has that spooky clown feeling.. like the manequin is laughing at our building up of a concrete world. interesting.. .oooh and now i see you in the picture. nice exposure, nice details. interesting |

Darkness & Lightby docurrieComment: This is a very pleasing image. The sun has a nice glow with some very interesting blue color lighting up the water. I think the long exposure gives the water a very nice soft feeling. How this image could be improved..... ,hmmmmmm... i am not sure. It DOES have light areas in the sky, but perhaps bringing out a little more detail in the water would have improved it a little. I do like the black shore line though. It creates a nice frame for the rest of the image and is a nice leading line. It could be seen as too tightly cropped perhaps, with the shore starting at the VERY corner of the image and going to the very edge of the other side... perhaps this creates some uneeded tension in the image... just some thoughts

Drought & Lonelinessby BowerbirdComment: well it took a second to figure out what this was a picture of. I think the image could have been more interesting with a little more context. perhaps more of the chain or cable holding the hook. I think it also could be improved by framing the image with the hook off to one side. You have an interesting texture on the ground to work with but, yeah i think lke i said before, i need a little more context to make it interesting for me. I also wonder if you over sharpened this image a bit. It looks like it was a bit soft (blurry) to start with and you gave it a healthy dose of unsharp mask or similar. Good start, and welcome to DPC.

Dawn Lightby DufusComment: well i do like the framing of the bottom hills, how they are black, but i think they also create a bit of a boxy feeling. If the hill had just gone over one corner of the frame i think i would have like that part more. very nice color and texture in the sunlight streaming through the mountins onto the water. I am not sure i am a big fan of the tall format of the image. I am not quite sure why though. perhaps the blue on the very top seems distracting to me and pulls my eye away from what is REALLY interesting.. the sun and clouds, interacting with the cliffs.
just my thoughts.

Dark & Light by Travis99Comment: Wow, i haven't done a critique in a long time, and hadn't voted on this challenge, and what image do i get to critique but this one. :)
well it is obviously a stunny photograph as many people confirmed. I think the sense of depth makes this photo strong. The leading line of the road and the two trees, the one farther back from the other. I think the graduating filter really made this image stunning as it made it possible to have a very interestinly exposed sky. great silhouet of the tree's and very interesting texture and detail in the road.

Room full of colors by terjeComment: very nice, congrats on the ribbon. I have been intrigued by these tunnels every time i go through them. I think they are one of oslo's hidden secrets. :)... and those LONG escelators... and these great walls and pathways.... and to end it all off... that sound room at the top. Great capture. |

Over the Lakeby LadeeMComment: i think it can work fine that the person is just a silhouet. I think the photo is exposed fine. I like how the person is on the right of the image.... not centered. Nice blue color on the water.. The horizon is a bit tilted. Perhaps it would be more interesting for me if the person was doing something.. reaching, stretching, walking, looking.. perhaps if the person had moved out a little farther as well so that they didn't mesh with the boat in the background. |
