Wow, i haven't done a critique in a long time, and hadn't voted on this challenge, and what image do i get to critique but this one. :)
well it is obviously a stunny photograph as many people confirmed. I think the sense of depth makes this photo strong. The leading line of the road and the two trees, the one farther back from the other. I think the graduating filter really made this image stunning as it made it possible to have a very interestinly exposed sky. great silhouet of the tree's and very interesting texture and detail in the road.

cool processing Travis. it took a good eye to see this, and has a very nice finish to it. well done.
did you add some of the solar flare to it after the fact? it looks a little...um...something. different. still way cool though.

Someone below said the rays looked unreal, but it is all real, sun and rays. Just one of those rare shots of the sun I guess. |

I went back to bump this image from 9 to 10 because here is a work that carries away the feelings with the quiet beauty of the silhouttes against the floating clouds. An incredible image that raises the bar on landscapes. Congratulations on your Yellow. |

What a special capture. The silhouttes are so crisp and the clouds have that amazing floating quality missing in many other images. This closed aperture has worked wonders here. 9 Returning for another bump! 10 |

Well the Dark and Light title got used quite a bit in this challenge, but I think this is one of the best of them. Love the lighting of the road and how it leads you right through the image. Awesome toning with a combo of sepia and BW, very effective. Nothing is blown out so I gues you use an ND? What ever you did you did it quite well. Great work on this and good luck! |

LOVE the texture and lighting on that pavement! The "warm" mingled with the "cool" color palette..simply luminous...I think the only thing I may have addressed differently would be the little "sun streak" at the upper right of the image running parallel to the top...I may have cloned that puppy out...overall a very intriguing image. |

I like the simplicity of this. It has a lonely sense to it and your use of brown and gray is interesting and helps convey that message. I think had it had the sole poplar, It would be perfect, but the two silhouettes are not in anyway bothersome. This could also be titled Deep and Lonely. 8 |

I really like the processing of this image; great muted color and wonderful texture. It feels a bit unbalanced, with the sun in the middle as well as the road and the tree...I'd almost prefer to crop the sun entirely out to make it a little more balanced. Nice image nonetheless. :) |
