I like the perspective of this shot, the tree in the background gives the photo a bit of a story - can easily imagine this nut having dropped from it.. The sunlight coming in and giving that sheen would normally be a bit distracting but it works here for me. Good colors, very solid photograph. 7

Very nice rendition of the challenge. The broken nut is in great focus, I also like the use of the leaf as background, keeps it nicely organic. The color of the chestnuts? against the green leaf gives it a bit more pop as well. Well done. 7

Wonderful image! The soft focus in the right hand corner is a bit distracting, but the frog's eyes keep drawing my attention away from it so the negative impact is much less than it could be. I do find the thicker border a bit too much, but the photo all together, lighting, subject works great for the challenge and as a photo on its own merit. Bumping up the vote one to an 8

Grandma's Secret Recipe

Nice idea! I'm guessing that's a wire whisk over top, if so it helps tie the whole cooking aspect of the piece together as well as adding a bit of a covering/barrier as if to keep some of the recipe hidden, at least that's what I got from it. I tend to not like photos that are mostly words, but this one works well. 7

Nice solid photo. Everything appears to be in good focus, the gears as well as the numerals. The background, metallic look and border all work well together. Lighting is good as well. The unusual face of the watch adds to its general appeal. Good job! 7

Wonderful idea! I love the vivid primary colors playing off each other and the black. The hand seems a bit unfocused, but since my attention is drawn towards the paint cans, that isn't a huge deal for me. Great use of space as well. 7

Nice photo. Captures the essence of exposed very well, I even light the soft focus/lighting on the top of the box. I wish a little bit more of the bottom of the box (in front) was visible or more defined, but that may not have been possible. Great, unique idea. 7

Simple, crisp, the kiwi is very defined, you've even captured the juicy nature of the fruit. The lighting is a teeny bit harsh in the top left hand corner, near the top of the uncut kiwi - kind of a slight glare to me, but I don't think it detracts, I did notice it though. Very well done. 8

Maybe I'm a sick person but I loved this photo. The orange is vivid, the subject is humorous and well executed. I find the white light in the bottom left hand corner a bit harsh and the soft focus on the pumpkin innards near that area a tad bit detracting, but overall I think this fits the challenge in a very fun way. Excellent job. 8

A very interesting way to portray 'exposed'. I like the uniqueness of the idea and its manifestation, though I do have to admit the image is a bit startling. Very nice job in taking something mundane and making it interesting. 7
