Inspired by the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. I always wondered what the heck was in that thing. Every time they opened it, there was this bright golden light. Rumor has it that it was Marsellus Wallace's soul. //pulp.linuxroot.org/case.shtml

I like the soft focus on the hands - makes them look other-worldly, like an angel opening the soul - not just a human being. Very Buffy.

I had pegged this shot as way higher than a 19th position :( Still, top 20 is nothing to spit on. Keep up the good work.

Good use of lighting! Good pic! The focus is a little soft but I suspect that it is intended that way.

Nice job with the soft focus. It makes the hands add to the composition rather than being so distinct that they distract. The light coming from the chest is certainly the main point of interest and your title then adds to that.

Nice idea and nice composition. The image appears a bit over softened however.

it's almost exposed.. open the box so we can actually see whats being concealed?

Good composition. A little out of focus. Does it fit the challenge?

I would have liked a sharper focus on the hands (although I like the softness of the skin tones) and on the handle. I like the composition.

Good Points:idea is fantastic, well lit
Bad Points: composition could be better, much better. quite an unexciting angle really. perhaps lower or straighter - i'm not sure just something amiss about it all.
Score:6

Creative idea, a bit too NeatImaged for me though. Not sure about your title... I'd have liked to interpret the shot differently, perhaps a sense of mystery would be good here by not stating what you think is in the box.
I think the top-left/ bottom right diagonal is stronger when using a diagonal as the basis of your composition.
Perhaps magenta was the wrong colour to push in Photoshop, it works well inside the box, but makes the outside look like there is a bad colour cast to the shot.

Nice photo. Captures the essence of exposed very well, I even light the soft focus/lighting on the top of the box. I wish a little bit more of the bottom of the box (in front) was visible or more defined, but that may not have been possible. Great, unique idea. 7

Neat metaphorical take on the challenge. I wish the background/bottom of the chest were slightly more defined.

Not quite exposed, but just about, heh? Great concept and the softness adds to the shot for the box and the light but the hands almost look too soft, a bit unreal. Starting with a 7, will be back.
