Taking The Lead by autoolComment: This is a really great shot. It looks like it's walking around on its roots. Well lit, sharp with great DOF... (8) |

Hopes and Dreamsby NitenComment: I really like the colours in the picture; they give a warm romantic glow. While the composition seems a little busy, the overall shot is good, but I can't help feeling that the challenge target hasn't be hit too well. Exposure and technical merit are very goodâ€Â¦ Not the best judgement, sorry to be negativeâ€Â¦ |

Palm Puppyby MorganComment: DOF is all that creates fault with this image. I think this picture would have won the challenge with ease had the focus been on the puppy's face. It is a really great shot, but the focus is so important with portraits like thisâ€Â¦ Sorry to be so negative on such a heart tugging imageâ€Â¦ |

New Life, New Father, New Loveby SonifoComment: Wonderfulâ€Â¦ I love it. The colour in the sky is breathtaking. For me, the pose says it all; I didn't need to look at the title, the picture just leapt out without trying. It's a great idea and meets the challenge with ease. The use of a foreground silhouette rather than battling with fill flash is a stroke of genius and makes this picture original and spontaneous and gives it a stand out from the rest qualityâ€Â¦ Really great pictureâ€Â¦ (10++ and possible winner?) Good luckâ€Â¦ |

Day Oneby just-marriedComment: Hey, I wondered how many babies I'd see. Before I start - I'm scoring this 10. I had decided before I stared voting that babies were too obvious, and that I’d score them down because of a lack of invention. But, boy, this is one fantastic picture. The purity and innocence positively shine out of this shot. It has it all, it’s technically well done, it captures the challenge and of course – it gets the ooooh voteâ€Â¦ I don’t think luck comes into this, but good luckâ€Â¦ If it isn’t in the top 5 I’ll be surprisedâ€Â¦ |
