As a still life it is ... boring It looks like This picture from concept to completion
meaning from set up to upload to DPchallenge took all of 5 minutes.
So I scored you a 5
How could you have done this better?
1 suggestion ,find a good old worn wood or brick background with a nail and hang your skates on it . Make the composition good by proper placement and Ta Da you would have had a much better photo.IMO
Placement of this equipment just removes it so much from its element.

This picture is okay however .If I were to follow this theme I would have placed the orange differently with some eaten and just skin aqnd perhaps not on a plate in the grass but with plate/containor on a players bench with the field as a backdrop with the net or goal posts or bleachers as backdrop.

Orange slices are often served up as halftime refreshments but this composition
just says fruit.
5 from me.
I think you had an excellent idea you just needed to expand on it some.

Just a little to much clutter for my liking. It became overkill.
If you kept one base 1 glove (the one one the left), the old bat ,and the Yankees cap you would have had a stronger composition.
Sometimes less is more
Lighting seems to have made everything bland so B&W might have been an option here.
However it does fit the theme

Personally when I see canoes I do not think "team sport".
That said ,I like this shot and scored it a 7despite my predjudice :-)

I would have scored it higher if : It had more of a pop wow factor to it eg. more dramatic lighting or fog. (all this is out of your control I realise)

It sits on the fringe of fitting on theme while I did not mark down for it I never marked up for it either. Had it spoke to me and said this is a team sport without players it would have been a bit score higher IMO.

The leaves do this picture great,the branch is in the way and does nothing to help the shot IMO.
To bad the ball was not leather for a better patinia.

All that negative stuff aside I give this picture a 7 because it does not look set up(always a plus for me) ,it fits the theme and is technically good.
