Nice set up and I like the used look of all the equipment. could be a bit brighter but the detail is very good throughout.

Need more light, and perhaps a slightly less tight crop, but a nice idea...

great title!!! I love your ideas here. Photographically, I'm wondering if the shot may be a little washed out, but maybe on purpose? Regardless...nice work

you could have easily increased the contrast a bit to make this pic absolutely pop. one of my favorites.

This pic has a nice feel to it--almost nostagic. You've made an interesting composition from these items--love the worn out / well-used quality of the subjects. Good luck with the challenge!

very nice still life... maybe some more contrast
06/05/2004 03:54:42 PM
This needs to be a little brighter and have a little more saturation to really make an impact. If could also use a little sharper focus to get detail on bat, gloves, and hat.

A good reprentation of a teamsport. The light is a bit flat, could do with some more contrast.

Very nice idea and complex arrangements, or were they just thrown there? :P I like the fact that everything is dirty, it tells a story and sets a mood that way. I think this could have benefited from a slight increase in saturation to bring out the colors more. I think it would look really great in sepia with all that dirtyness in there, it would have a much more stronger mood that way. Great photo otherwise...

Good luck...

Nice. I like the fact that all the equipment in your shot appears to be well used.

pile of stuff

I like the "old fashioned" feel that this photo gived through it's colours. A little extra added contrast wouldnt go amiss though :)

kinda flat coloring, low on contrst. Lighting issues?
06/03/2004 11:22:09 AM
With so many different subjects, I need just one thing (a ball or a bat) to really grab my interest. Maybe by using a shallow depth of field and doing almost a macro on a ball or a bat to then draw me into the picture would have worked better.

a little underexposed. this would have been good in b+w
06/03/2004 09:58:16 AM
Your photo is a little too cluttered and the lighting is not the best. You did a good job on your focus.
06/03/2004 06:56:56 AM
Just a little to much clutter for my liking. It became overkill.
If you kept one base 1 glove (the one one the left), the old bat ,and the Yankees cap you would have had a stronger composition.
Sometimes less is more
Lighting seems to have made everything bland so B&W might have been an option here.
However it does fit the theme
6 from me

Nice title and a good photo.

My folks have a cat named DiMaggio. We got him the week Joe died. Nice title. Go Yankkes. :) On the technical side- this should would have benifitted from some stronger lighting. It's pretty dark, and even some minor tweaking in levels might give it more pop. I'd also use just one baseball in the image. When I was playing yardball growing up we only had 1 ball. :) A brighter better image would have this an 8. As is, 6.

I think some additional light woudl help this - feels a bit dull.
06/02/2004 04:38:34 AM
I like the weathered look

Great composition, I would have liked the colours to have possibly been more vibrant.
