 Last minute change. I gave up on Quiet Time with champagne ;) in front of the house in favor of this morning's mist down our driveway near the gate. Quite a bit of color PP to emphasize the red bark of the Red Box gum trees and the red soil of the driveway set against the green grasses (native and introduced). I am quite happy with the result I hope the voters will like it too!

Since Peter raised the issue of honesty I actually went though the trouble of measuring the distance - it is about 90m in straight line from the house to where I took the photo. We live on 5 acres of bush (forest or non-urban area - translation for those outside Australia) on the outskirts of Melbourne and love it here! We have black wallabies, Eastern grey kangaroos, echidnas, rosellas, kookaburras and many more visiting us almost every day.

7.30 at 111 and 17 comments. It was on 7.44 at 52 and new PB but the latest voters are bringing it down. Still an amazing result!

I may not be here much at DPC, as it hard to some days to type or even read what I have typed (they are the very bad days) but when I do and if something stands out, I try to leave a message of support...

YOU have really touched me with your style and also the true AUSSIE spirit I see in you LANDSCAPES as if the photos were actual PAINTINGS... Not easy to achieve, but something I admire so much... A wonderful natural photographer with good techniques in procesing is what you have a gift for, and this produces the lovely images you make me admire.....

This should be a mural, or at least hung in a gallery. Absolutely beautiful. What a timeless image! Those could be tire trcks, or just as easily wagon tracks from a hundred years ago. Fantastic job on an absolutely classic image...

Very, very pretty. I appreciate the control of contrast. I might have been inclined to try to bring some of the tree texture out more, but as you've shown that is unnecessary.
