 What an excellent way to start the week! First ribbon, thrilled to death. Thanks for all of the nice comments.

Like Dennisheckman (blue), I took this shot while grilling in the backyard. I set up the tripod with telephoto about 5 feet away from the landscape timber, sprinkled out a few live meal worms, and using a wireless remote, fired away from near the backdoor. I couldn't see the birds that well from my vantage point but just keep shooting. It's mainly our nesting bluebirds that eat the mealworms but this cardinal swooped in and made a glutton of himself. He must've heard the shutter of the previous shot and looked. This was the last of 100 or so shots I took before having to get back to the BBQ business at hand...
