I like the colors, but I feel it's needs a little bit more interest.

The two color background takes your eye away from the subject. Picking one color would have been less distracting.

well, very good idea and well done, the composition in the middle isn't the best choice but probably there wasn't other way.8

This photograph is balanced between the green and the blue color. The blue of the elephants trunk is balanced by the green negative space on the other side.
