To clarify, for small amounts i whisk is used, in probably every major restaurant today. But for a large amount, like cakes a mixer is used commercially. I wouldn't know about households/home use.
Yes, if you used a whisk long ago, and not much since you went electric, that was your old way. And in general, everything electric is equated with modern.

Irene, I think the image is awesome and congrats on the ribbon... but I too at first felt that it was a bit of a stretch. I couldn't, however, force myself to vote it down low, because it is such a wonderful image.
In retrospect, just because something is STILL done a certain way, does not make it not an old way. |
Hi Leroy. Thanks for commenting. I didn't mean this image to be a stretch in any way. I use my electric mixer most of the time and I hadn't used the whisk for the longest time (I've had it for over 20 years). Even my dear old Mother-in-law uses her electric mixer regularly ;-) However, I see where you're coming from and thanks for not voting me down even though you had your doubts. The whisk was an "old way" for me and certainly no shoehorn. |

there's no luck to this timing - a quick look through your amazing portfolio will show you've been in training with tens of thousands of shots to get to where you can be this lucky.
I continue to marvel at your meteoric rise. These challenges are all yours now - you shan't be talking me into one of them again! :-P |

Hate to think of how many times you had to wash up the ballon wisk. I tried a freeze frame shot in one of the challenges a while back and it was a nightmare. Here you have excellent lighting and have no noticeable motion blur. Its great how the white of the egg has seperated out vertically. |
