From Critique Club.
On my screen it looks 3D - the toy is stepping out of the frame. Partially this is the benefit of the frame, partially thanks to the contrast of blending dark parts of the animal with the background and the light fur.
I just have a doubt: if this is a challenge, why would one shoot the subject of it if he/she hopes to win the competition? Unless of course it is something exclusive or very symbolic. The toy is just a toy... |

The lighting is lacking and get rid of the frame. |

The legs and head blend too well with the background and the frame is too fancy and distracting. |

I really like the border on this. I feel that a softer light source would have made a bit of difference in my opinion though. |

Nearly, but the top of the head is burned out and the face and body seem to merge into blackness. I do like him and it makes me laugh. As you have a digital camera - even if you do not have proper studio lights - a spotlight pointing lower left may have pulled out a little detail |
