Composition-Content I think that the placing of the tomato could have been slightly lower in the picture. The shadows add depth to this shot and add interest but the "face" of the tomato leads the viewer out of the right side of the picture. Otherwise, the rule of thirds were followed to your advantage and also leaves enough space for background detail. The colour here is lovely, really creates a ripe, edible tomato.
Background The background here helps the tomato to stand out, but in my opinion it is too dark at the top of the picture. It fades into light but not equally on both sides, this does however complement the natural tilt of the tomoato. The use of shadows adds depth and they would stand out more if the top of the picture were brighter. There is one stray bit of black fluff to the left of the tomato which is a bit distracting.
Camera Work-Technical
Focus is great here. The lighting on the tomato really adds to the colour, the golden specs are great. The one flash highlight on the tomato slightly attracts the viewers attention, a bounced flash could help here.
Digital Processing The edges of the tomato could benefit from a little sharpening, but I think this is up to you! The tomato is not a perfect shape anyway, so looks more natural the way you shot it.
My Opinion My first impression was OK, bu t I really appreciate the colours of the tomato, especially the nice golden specs! I am not too keen on the background, personally I think a little more light would be good. Overall, you definitely made this tomato look worth eating , a great job!

Fruit, and excellent lighting. The fade from white to black is refreshing after looking at so many solid backgrounds. Please share how you lit this! |

Good strong colour and great to have all the shadow in shot. Background needs a little more light (for my tastes). Cropped a little tight at the top. Kavey |

How DO we light the tomato without the flash spot? Excellent, otherwise. |

you have succeeded in making this look round. This was a difficult task, imo, in this challenge. A lot of times, the lighting can make the fruit look flat. Nice work. |

Nice tomato. A tad off center, is that what you wanted? (O.K. good enough!) Good color, focus seems good. My only knock is against interest, nothing in this shot says Hey Look at ME! or even Look at me again. 7 Swash |
