 This was taken last January. I had considered entering it in the free study but decided not to because it didnt look "real". It took me the whole week to pick a picture, really i started trying to decide in December and im just entering this picture an hour before turnover. I had pictures that i liked but all of them seemed kinda ho hum. Nothing just jumed out and said this is the one to enter. Looking through my portfolio again, I came across this picture. Stdavidson had left a comment about always going with your heart when submitting.

So i re-edited the picture and here it is. My best of 2006, taken on the first of January, 2006.

A fun different type of landscape. Not sure if the curvature was intentional, but I think it adds a great dimension to the photo, almost like a reverse ocean scene. The varied colored tones add alot of interest and the brown pop works wonders. Not sure of the exposure, but the clouds seem a little soft, it might be due to a long exposure.

i'm sorry, this just doesn't do anything for me, except maybe make me feel cold. it's beautiful, yes, but doesn't have much to really keep my interest.

Lighting is apot on. But it needs sharpness IMO.

Makes me cold. Interesting that there really isn't any subject to this yet it holds interest. I think it is the color that does it, especially that redish area in the water.
