| i almost forgot, 'dphillips'. i live in the southern hemisphere and that tree in the middle is dead so you wouldn't expect foliage. |

thanx for the votes everybody, very appreciated!
firstly, everybody said i should have lowered the angle. i would have liked to but if you look closely you can see a house roof top down the bottom. i didn't have time to take the photo differently.
secondly, the reason i didn't actually have the sun in the picture is because it would mess the exposure and because the colours only went good when the sun was below the horizon.
My last comment is about the picture actually being the sun setting not rising, which most people picked up on. I didn't think it would matter because sunrise can look like that and i was just representing what i like about new days. |

| This is absolutely beautiful. I was sitting here wondering if it would be a tad better without the trees in the way, and then I'm thinking that the trees looked good in contrast to the sky. I guess I would have to see it taken both ways to be able to judge that. Very nice. Good luck with the challenge. |

| I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. Actually looks more like a sunset to me, but I know sometimes you get real red skies in the morning too. Good photo but too many "sunrise" type photo's in this challenge. |

| How does that go. Red sky at night, fisheman's delight. Red Sky in the morning, take warning. Boys I messed that up. Looked like a pretty nasty day coming up. Very nice colours (6). |

| very nice job with the vivid colors... I love nice sunrise/sunset shots but I rarely shoot any myself. I think this particular shot would be improved by lowering the angle somehow to bring the ground into view... the silhouetted trees here are very nice, but having them cut off half way up seems a little awkward.. good shot :) - jmsetzler |

| I like this a lot...beautiful colors! Only thing..I wish that I could see the full silhouette of the center tree. But maybe that wasn't possible because of the environment and the lens used...maybe if it were taken vertically? Great job -7 |
