I noticed this in the challenge, and it was certainly not a title I'd considered lol. It was a good idea to pursue something for an environmental documentary, but I feel this topic is just a little bland - I'd certainly fall asleep during the movie if you don't mind me saying.

All the technical things are ok, don't have anything to criticise with the composition, but it just lacks emotional appeal. Shouldn't have got the brown, but don't wanna take your ribbon from you :P

that's just cruel.. the owner of that pond should be forced to drink some of that water ;)

the composition isn't very good, the fish in focus is to close to the center of the image, it's very dirty and uninteresting and lacks that punch that makes it something to look at.

I gave this a 5. It's hard to get worked up over dirty water (photographically, that is) even though the photo and title make a strong statement. I thought it would have scored higher if the fish filled the frame more. (You are right, though. This water looks putrid.)

i actually didn t mind this one so much. nice ribbon. lol.

the comment i already left is really the only thing i can think of to change. the problem is you got fish in dirty water which doesnt make people wanna look at it. and this is the point of the shot. lol.

sorry bout your luck didnt think this should have been anywhere near last. but then i never get it right.

Gotta say I don't know how you ended up with the brown, but hey, it IS a ribbon, and a whole lot of really good people here have them. On the plus side, it'll get lots of views and hopefully a few of those viewers will stop by your portfolio to see what else you have, which is good!
I gave you a 6 on this. I thought the picture matched the title well and could see it as a documentary. What is lacking is a sense of composition - it's a bit too random with a fish here, a fish there, but no focal point. I do realize that herding fish is probably a whole lot like herding cats, though. The color are icky, but I think that's part of the point. The other thing that may have hurt you is the lengthy title - most folks just wanted to see the three words and that's that.

Trading POst -

Hmmmmm. I guess congrats on the brown. To be honest I don't think this was the worst shot inthe challenge. The worst was (deleted title). But I will admit this wasn't that great. The water definitley looks polluted, but the fishies seem to be hanging in well. The fish arent really in nice positions in the frame. The color is blah ( I know - it is supposed to be brown). THere just wasnt much to make me want to look at it for any longer than it took me to find a number to vote it. Hope that isnt too harsh. But again - you ahve a brown - and thats better than a DQ. Hang in there - it can only get better.

Nice idea, and a great statement. Unfortunately, I don't think that its flash enough, especially considering the way folks vote around here. Nice focus and great exposure. Work on getting the composition a little more off centered in all directions.

would have liked to see dead fish maybe. not little fishies that seem to be doing ok.

Looks like pretty standard dirt, and the fish look complacent. This isn't going to sell your documentary well. I like the image, though, on its own.

It's good that you wrote that this one is for a documentary. I think it's a nice one for a documentary.

The quality of the water is very fitting for your film theme and title. But with the fish of similar color it leaves your photo looking a little bland. A tighter crop on one of the fish(or a more bunched up cluster of fish) would put a little more oomf into the photo.

Yep, that's a dirty pond. Poor fish! I like the muted tones, but wish the fish in upper right was more in focus.

3 word title, points of for extra words, they weren't really needed here anyway

I think a dead or very sick fish would have gotten the point across more. overall it seems fairly boring. the blurry botttom gives it a very dirty pond feel so good job there.

Sounds more like a rock group than a movie title to me.
