Greetings from the Critique Club:
Hi, Talya
I've done one of yours before so here it goes.
Challenge: The subject is definately off center in the picture so you met the criteria for the challenge.
Technical: I appreciate your creativity with this shot. I do, however, agree with many of the comments below. I think that focus would define your picture better. With the daylight at the end of the tunnel, your subject is backlit. With focus, the lines would be clearer, but still be artistic. I think the ripples in the water are neat and could be seen better. Unfortunately, as well, the background (the light) is overexposed.
Composition: I do like the backlit guitar player. I wish that I could see even more of the guitar, however. The tunnel frames the picture nicely. Good choice of subject.
Once again, I enjoyed studying one of your pictures. Keep up the good work.

he was in Central Park, chilling and staying out of the rain that created that flood.
interesting submission for off center, Talya. I knew this was one of us, but we figured it was CJ since you had "stuff" to do the next day! lol

why do I have a feeling that this was shot by one of the bunch that met in NYC? |

A very good idea and situation that could have been maor carefully executed. (or was it an intent or statment ?) |

He looks very blurry. This one could use some real focus. The outside seems to be pretty overexposed. Tough picture to get exposed right, but the focus has to be there |

NIce mood and leading lines. I sure wish something were in focus, then motion blur would work for me in this somewhat static scene. |

I'm wondering if the movement is intentional? IMO, this image would work better if it were sharp rather than blurred. And, even though the man is off-center, the roundish hole is pretty much center, and the two compete for attention. ~4 |

Concept is good, but more focus would be better :) |

he IS off-centre...and out of focus and underexposed. or the background is overexposed. I think I get what you're going for, but it ends up looking like you just missed the shot. I think if you focussed on the background, you'd still get the same effect on the subject. nice idea, in any event. |

This is obviously a slow shutter speed and hand held as I can see the movement, however the concept is good and the framing is also good! |

A little too centered to score my highest, themewise, in this particular contest. |

Not sure what the intent of the blurring is... |

i like this a lot. im sure you wont score well and people will think the lack of focus is a mistake not understanding your artistic vision. keep doing what you're doing. |
