| The bee looks like it's suspended in mid-air. This image just doesn't seem to look right. |

| Very pretty - though it looks a bit like the bee is hanging in midair with its wings unspread (and therefore not flying), at this detail level. |

Beautifully captured image. Composition and color very good. Perfect DOF for your subject, people often try doing too much with depth of field. Nice job.
No surprise; that is not a killer bee. Killer bees look like honey bees, but are much darker. I know, I've been attacked by them before. |

| If you'd called it 'Nature' or 'Natural Geographic,' I could rate it higher; Discover magazine tends recently to have much more manipulated and abstract covers. |

| the DOF is very nicely controlled and the tight focus on the subject (bee) is a plus. However, I would prefer it more if the bee is shot from another angle. 7 |
