Greetings from the Critique Club!
Beautiful image of the moon. I would agree that there is some apparent color noise on the moon. I would suggest desaturation to get rid of it - the image is almost black and white anyway.
The composition works - its at rule of thirds which many people prefer. The moon itself is a little soft but I would think noise and resizing did most of that.
I think the main reason this did not score well in the challenge is that it 'kind of' fit the challenge but it didn't do it well enough for the voters.

| Amazing photograph. I can't believe how good it is. How did you get such an amazing closeup of the moon. I love photographing in the night but have never managed to get a good picture. |

| Ohhh... the thumbnail looked so promising. What I mean is that the image quality is really lacking here, mainly the moon is too noisy (maybe because of an extreme crop?) Nice idea though and fitting for the challenge, 6 from me. |

| It looks like theres a little bit of color-noise in here. I think you could greatly improve this shot by desaturating it all the way to get rid of the off-color pixels, and boosting the contrast to darken the backgroun and make the moon stand out. |
