My opinion is that the key compositional element of this picture is that the mountain and the boat visually balance each other about the horizon. The use of a near-centre positioning enhances this aspect and so, IMO, you went down the right path rather than R.o.Thirds. |

Sounds like a note on returned physics homework. Understand, this an attempt to make art. Art has no rules ..... just itself. |

The first one I have come across where the D&L had to do with techniique instead of content. I like it. I may have tried to sharpen it a bit more. Very pretty. |

Elegantly simple and beautifully composed. Feels like this should be a Japanese print on a bamboo screen! My only query is over the boat's reflection...it looks a bit odd.... |

This is a visually pleasing photo, but I do wonder why the water appears to have a slight pinkish cast near the ship. I wonder if you can see it on your monitor? |

this looks like a painting. especially the background, actually it reminds me of the matte painting done in movies, which gives it a realistic feel, but heightened setting. |

nice take on on the d and l concept. I'm sure you are going to get a lot of comments on how this cheating or something but whatever...
on the image itself I like it. It's a nice use of balance betwen forground and background though it's a little overproccessed and the boat and mount. is kinda dead in the center. make sure to follow the rule of thirds next time |

I find the residual color present in the shadow of the boat distracting. I think that a less center-heavy composition would have worked better. |

This is great. Love the idea. The reflections of the boat seem off to me and I think that a slightly more off-center crop might have helped it a tad. Still, a very strong image. |
