for once I don't have to think up a title! (I am terrible with my titles)

if I ever do this again, I'll arrange my dimes differently, so I don't have blurry distant ones directly behind closer in-focus ones...

key light was a 100w lamp with a jury-rigged diffuser. used a polarizer on the lens to cut out reflections from the window that provided a little bit of fill light.

selective levels/curves adjustments;
burning of shadow areas;
partial desaturation of blues (for reflections);
varying levels of USM;
NeatImage.

focal length 46.0mm.

this image is just silly

Good job making it interesting by putting the dimes into the lime. It makes all the difference. That's why I liked it better than the other lime dime photo int his challenge. You might want to play with the lighting to see if you can get more interesting effects, still it gets 9 just as it is.

Bought a lime...and a lemon...was going to do them with dice....pretty darn close to your idea...Great lighting and very out the box idea, more so than mine. Like what you did with embedding the dimes in the lime. Like the DOF, too. Neat shot. Good luck.

The dark background and the geen limes is a very pleasing combination. The dimes are very sharp - nice focus.

I've seen a couple of 'dimes and limes' entries. Doesn't mean a thing to me but I guess it is an American thing?

This is a nicely taken shot, but withought the reference it seems contrived like the items just happen to begin with the right letters. I will give these the benefit of the doubt though - 7

I think that it would have been more interesting with the dimes face-on.

Something about this photo strikes me as pretty disturbing, but I don't really know why.

I think it's really funny that two people had this exact idea. On the other hand yours is really well executed. 8.

The DoF is a little too shallow; the only items turned toward the camera are out of focus. I think that a less centered composition would have worked a little better here. The other limes surrounding the focal fruit are a nice touch.

Interesting but it fits the D & L just fine. The color of the lime pops off the photo and your focus is right on. 8
