I love this shot! It reminds me so much of home. (Australia) I love the clarity in the foreground with the out of focus background, it really brings out the wild look of the Kookaburra. You did really well with this category.

The lighting here seems a little harsh - there's something about wildlife shots where a flash was obviously used that turns me off. The image is crisp though, and no Aussie can so no to a Kookaburra.

Love the bokeh in the greenery behind the bird. Wish the wire were not there. Like the old nail though. (Just being nit picky.) The photo is excellent.

Great shot. Nice bokeh. Great composition except for the bit of missing tail feather. A little dark, but otherwise very nice.

*Excellent* detail on the bird! The only thing that detracts from the photo is that it's tail is cropped off. Besides that it's perfect for this challenge and a great shot overall.

Not a bad shot, but âzoo shotsâ cab be tough to pull off and this one doesn't quite get there imo. Seeing hints of captivity (nail, wire, painted background) in the image really detracts from the over all impact. Also I'm not certain the bkgd blur rises to the level of bokeh.

I voted this a 6. I think it's a nice image and the background does contribute to the image. It's nice that we can see some shape and colour in there. The lighting seems very cold - I wonder if using a different white balance or perhaps some post processing could make this look a little warmer in colour tones? Seems just a touch dark too.
