Thank you everyone for all the nice comments. It is really encouraging to get a 6+ score.
The lines in the bokeh are mostly because I shot this through a diamond shaped wire fence. I hadn't realised this until a few days after I submitted this photo. Also, I think this is a bit hard to reproduce even since other photos taken through the fence don't have this design. But I do intend to experiment some more with extreme fg blurring for a subtle effect.
Thanks again. |

Very nice background bokeh, it certainly enhances the subject, and I love the composition with all the negative space. |

Very good work. Nice. I like the colors behind. |

Interesting. I think the subject is a bit too far away, and the fence (I am guessing) is a little distracting. Nice bokeh. |

this is an interesting image. on one hand, i like it. on the other, i don't like whatever it is you did to achieve your bokeh. it has a very "processed" feel to it. even if you managed to do this in camera, it doesn't feel right. the composition is incredible, as are the colors. good luck! |

I adore this image - it's beautiful and that diamond shaped pattern in the background creates a strangely enclosed feel even though we're looking at an open area of flowers. It's beautiful and one of my very favourite entries in this challenge! Thank you! |

Nice concept. The subject is a little small though...needs a tighter crop. |

Thats what I call Bokeh!
I dont know if this was done in camera or PP but its still very effective.
Maybe bump up the contrast a bit?

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Boy do we see that here! Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? In every sense of the word. I think it's fabulous that the bokeh almost has a grid patterm, I've never seen anything like that before- can't wait to find out after the challenge what camera and lens you used. Nice job!! |

I think this shot would have had greater impact if it was more saturated. The green in the stem appears to be washed out to some degree. Maybe that was your intention. The bokeh in this shot adds a nice impressionistic feel. |

Very good impressionism here.
Almost like a Monet.

Did you blur this a little in post? It seems a little processed for my taste, but still a nicxe picture. Your artistic idea is evident. |
