Fantastic image. Really don't know what I would do to improve it...kinda hard to improve on a first place finish. Well done and congrats on the finishing.
Oh ok only thing that I don't like is the missing foot...oh and that is getting really picky to even come up with that.
Fantastic take on the challenge congrats again.

I am shocked you have not got more ribbons before. You have submitted some incredible images to DPC and this is not your best.
Kudos to you and all of your work.
Anyway, congrats on your first ribbon and a blue one at that! |

I knew this would get first place. I would have been disappointed if it hadn't. It is a terrific photo that totally captures the spirit of the challenge. I've linked this photo to just about everyone I know. A cell phone company could easily use this for an ad campaign...IMO.
Congratulations! Well deserved! :) |

A Really great photograph here.. one of my two 10s of the challenge. (the red ribbon got the other one). If there's any indication that average scores are plummeting here on DPC, it's that this is only a 6.955.. easily deserving of a mid 7 in *my* books.
Congrats. |

returning for comments;
I am very ompressed with this effort. A very good use of props and de-sat, however, you needed a slight decrease in hue to avoid the cherry red fingers on the hand resting over thigh. Bumping to 7 on well executed concept. |

Can't work out how you did this, but assume selective desat and 2 models .. or is the sepia girl from a museum exhibit or something. I hope it is explained. Excellent shot and meets the challenge perfectly. |

You have presented your idea really well here. From what they are wearing to the phones they are using, it works really well. Also, the expressions say it all. Some things change and some things never change and that's how it should be.
Excellent work. |

Brilliant photograph. Great composition. The subjects' expressions complement each other well. Both subjects are animated and engaged, just like my teenage daughters when they are on the telephone. This has a very Norman Rockwell feel to it. Please take that as a compliment. When I was in college taking art classes in the early 80s everyone was bemoaning him as a lowly illustrator. I, however, believe that he captured the essence of the twentith century like no other artist. People seem to finally be coming around to that way of thinking. Your modern subject's foot moving out of the frame suggesting the future is s nice touch. I lke the simple color choices of red, white and blue - and what could be more American than jeans. Excellent work. |
