Thank you to everyone who gave me all the great comments and high votes! I can't believe I ribboned, what a great feeling. I'm sorry I didn't explain my shot better, but I simply took some 'clown white' make up (appropriate) and put in in my hair and face, next I broke into my wifes makeup kit and drew some lines under my eyes and face the best I could without making the lines too obvious. A litte adjusting with the light and contrast, leveling and conversion to b & w.
Thanks again to everyone!!!!!!! |

You weren't who I thought you might be, but that's of no consequence. This and the blue ribbon were my two 10s of the challenge. I liked this one better, myself, but congrats on the red. A well deserved finish, with a wonderful photograph.

Well done. The use of make-up (at least, I hope its make-up) is effective though the line in the hair and the line in the goatee are off (small thing, I'm being nitpicky). The lighting contrast between the younger and older side is also evocative and a strong choice though the younger side looks a little washed above and below the eye and on the tip of the nose. Offsetting the photo from center is also a great choice. Finally, squinting the right eye a bit is a nice extra touch adding to the appearance of age. Again, nice job (I like it). |

You've obviously put in a lot of effort here and it has paid off. The background colour shift is a nice touch, as is the off center framing. Great job on the makeup, especially the old skin texture. |

ooh impresive! Is it make-up, photo shop, or a 20yr shutter speed. That is my big question. Creative, meets the challenge, good technical aspect, DoF and such, and I like it. 9 |

Very imaginative. Although it appears a little washed out I think you must have intended it because it adds to the delineation of the two halves of the face. Great job. Oh, you forgot the extra fat deposits and hanging jowls on the older side! LOL. |

Your photograph is a good example of time passing. I actually though about this idea but didnt have the skills to pull it off, but you did. Very good technique, I wish you would do a tutorial on how to do this after the challenge is over. 10 |

I think you could be in danger of gaining around three of your personal goals with this pic Bob?
The only minor quib is that you`ve left the wrinkles and saggy skin out
Take it from one who knows :)
Great shot, well done |

I'm just a stickler for time passing from left to right, so I would score it higher if the young guy was on the left and the old guy on the right. ...or you could have titled it "looking back on my youth" ;-) |

I simply cannot *WAIT* to see how you pulled this off.. Make up? Hair dye? It's brilliant! I had the same type of idea, but just couldn't think of a way to pull it off.
Very well executed. I love the negative space, really adds an element to the photo. To me, it says, "I await my future, but I have a lot of it to go through first".
10 from me.

Really good photo here. I love the lighting, how the left older side is much darker. Maybe symbolic of a negativeness of growing older. Good idea! 7. |
