Challenge: Road Signs Revisited (Classic Editing)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S602Z
Location: NYC
Date: Jan 15, 2003
Aperture: f5
ISO: 160
Shutter: 1/350 s
Galleries: Urban
Date Uploaded: Jan 18, 2003

corner of guess what, midtown Manhattan, shot with the tele-converter on the camera, but zoomed out, so the converter's insides are visible for the tunnel effect. I used the flash to get more out of the reflecting green street signs.

Greetings from the Critique Club
Subject
The subject grabs your attention, And definitely meets the challenge!
Sharpness:
focus is excellent, pin sharp
Exposure: Good
Contrast & Color: A little flat, but I think that is more the subject matter than your fault!
Composition
The various elements of the photo would be better balanced within the frame, if you had not got the flat spots on top and bottom. As you look at the photo your eyes are drawn to the subject down the tunnel, clever use of vingetting

Suggestions for improvement
Dont crop the top and bottom flat! I would have preferred a slightly less busy view at the bottom of the tunnel
Overall very creative and well executed.

nice circular framing technique

Great clarity and definition. Something isn't quite right about the circle inside the rectangle, I think I would either have liked black space all the way around the circle or for it to be more tightly cropped on the left and right.

Good shot.

This is a nicely done shot, I like the creativeness with tunnel aspect. Why did you crop part of the effect? Your focus was very crisp and the lighting was good. To be honest though the sign is a bit boring, though you truly tried to liven it up, it still doesn't just jump out and interest me. The technical aspect of the shot is sound though. 7.

Clever! Tunnel Exit street, end of the tunnel, tunnel vision... Good use of vignetting.

Creative use of vignetting, I think. Also, good focus, colors and lighting. The details are very sharp thoughout the picture.

looks photoshopped even though it's not..but in any case why choose to do that, why not just do a tigher crop. the tunnel really takes away from an otherwise good pic

Ok, let me be the hundreth person to question the black circle. I'm guessing it was taken through a piece of card and the DOF provides the blurred edge. If so, well done it looks like post processing. Focus and exposure of the signs is very good.
