(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) Well composed. The solid looking candle and candle holder contrast well with the filmy smoke.

(2) BACKGROUND I love the background that you have used, it does not distract from the subject of the photograph at all. The white of the candle nearly glows against the darkness behind it and the crystal of the candle holder is very crisp here.

(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL The use of negative space is well done. The candle moved to the left like this gives the smoke room to move through the frame. The sharp focus and clarity are a great play against the wispyness of the smoke.

(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Good processing. I wonder how this would have looked in Black and White. Good choice of a border, does not distract from the photo at all.

(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photo does a very good job of meeting the challenge. Unfortunately this song was overused, and that probably is what brought you in at a lower score than you deserved.

(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO A very interesting photo. It tells a story, a very emotional one...especially if you are familiar with the words of this song.

Nice capture of the smoke as well as good focus on the glass candle holder. Was this a hard photo to capture?

Very appropriate to have the candle blown out. Nice smoke. Good thinking! Very clear, well taken, well framed shot. Nice background, not too gone, not too in the way. Too bad you couldn't manip the smoke into a shape like her face, that
would have been ultra cool! (but illegal) 7 Swash

Isn't the song called "Candle in The Wind"? But I like the pic with the smoke drifting off to the right. Cool.

This is an excelent photo. The focus and clarity are great, and I like the soft smoke. I guess I don't understand the song reference, but I'll take your word for it. The color is very nice, and Angle and framing/cropping are great. I like how you have set the candle and holder to the left, with the smoke trailing off to the right. Lighting works perfectly. Border is good as well. Good luck in the challenge.

This is a wonderful shot and my guess is that it is a winner! The smoke from the candle looks like a ghost which is putting out the candle, it really looks like a person (ghostly) stretching out its arm and extinguishing the candle! amazing!!! You get a 10 from me!

Good twist on an otherwise overused subject.

It makes you think, good placement, and use of negative space.
