CRITIQUE CLUB REVIEW
A striking image. Great use of negative space. If it had been the only one doing this idea it would have been stronger. A testament to Elton John's popularity that so many people did this song!
Good bonus to add the wind blowing the flame. I might have liked to see: sharper focus, maybe some direct tie-in to either Marilyn Monroe or Elton. However, the 'lost in the darkness' quality is effective.
Overall good work, but needs more context than the title. |

at first i thought tori amos was most popular for this challenge, but maybe it's this one, candles are compelling. you should print them all out, frame them next to each other, ask folks to guess which is yours. |

would be even better with a little bit of a tighter crop |

I like the composition, but I'd like to see the fire under less strong wind ... ie. slightly bent to one side. would make for a softer feel. Still a nice use of Black and White. Good luck. Jacko. |

This was by far my favorite of all of the candle submissions(which were too many). The black and white along with the offset framing really adds to this shot. 7.
Take my comments for what they are worth for I am just a novice with a new camera. Dodo

the white border does nothing for this.. but I do not score based on that.. just saying so.
good composition... nice use of negative space. |

The border seems too big and distracing to me. I only wish the flame was more "typical." Otherwise, good lighting, good contrast. |

I like this one better than the other "Candle in the Wind" submissions. The black and white helps capture the tone of the song. |

At last, a border that actually works. |
