this is such a pretty photo! the composition and framing are excellent, and the clarity of the feathers is wonderful. did you use a red light to take this shot? i am trying to figure out what the background is--carpet? not that it matters really--i am jsut trying to figure out if a red lamp was bounced against a white carpet to create the glowy background! i like the fact that the reds are so prominent--it really makes the blues and greens jump out at you. i do find myself wondering tho, what the same shot might look like on a darker background? then those colors would REALLY pop! technically, this photo is well done--the aperture setting combined with the monochromatic feathers and background really give this pic a nice dreamy feel. nice work!

| Nice feathers, except that they're from the male!! It may have been better to concentrate on only a few feathers as the shot looks really busy. |

To get technical on you, it's the males that have these trains of feathers. Peahens (female peafowl) do not have the colored train of tail feathers that the peacocks(male peafowl) do. So technically, this doesn't depict LADY in red at all,maybe a beter title would be "Dude looks like a lady" lol. I get the point though, and I'll let it slide. Just this once. :)
Your focus and clarity are great, and the angle and framing/cropping are also excelent. I like how you have taken up the entire frame of the photo with the subject. It is a very pretty shot, no matter if male or female. Good luck in the challenge. |
