Beautiful reds, humourous idea, and such a cute little cactus!! I hope you didn't have to harm him in making of this photo. Since you are allowed to mask in advanced editing, I might take some of the colour cast from the greens, and try to edit out some of the brown spots to give it fresher look.

The colour is very soothing and pleasing to the eye. The thing I find a wee bit distracting is the what looks like noise in some parts of the flower and stem. Correct me if I'm wrong. Over-all it's a very nice photo, and I could be wrong about the noise so I won't penalize you for it.

It's very sweet, I definitely feel the emotional impact from this image. Nice composition too, but I think you may have misunderstood the challenge criteria. But aside from that, I would only suggest you do some noise reduction, and then print and frame it to make it a lasting family memory.

I apreciate the colourful concept, but it doesn't quite meet the challenge criteria. That aside, the main technical issue I see with this is that it seems you focused somewhere between the dogs ear and the elephant's eye, which makes the front guys' faces just a bit soft. I would try a bit smaller of an aperture to increase dof.
