I understand that you flipped it because you had to. My point was that it doesn't make any sense for this image.

I like the composition and lighting, but there are strange artifacts in some areas of the skin, for example just to either side of each strand of hair across the forehead, along the centerline of the nose. Are these compression artifacts or a side effect of some other processing? Too much sharpening maybe? Not my area of expertise, but a bit distracting given the clarity of the shot.
