Day 1by view360Comment: Originally posted by Louis: For a first one, this is a great self portrait. I'd be interested to know details, such as how you lit it, plus information on the shot (f-stop and so forth). The light is nice and soft-shadowed, and it makes for a very classic portrait. Nicely done. |
hi Louis, thanks for the comments. I've now included the shot details in with the picture, (F7.1 @ 100 iso). the lighting was from two strobes, one firing into a reflector and one through the brolly. The garage itself was dark so there was no natural light. : )
Thankyou awpollard too; I much prefer your crop- it looks more original, and generally is just so much better; I will bear it in mind for my next shots : )
Thanks for all the comments and advice, they have really helped me to think differently about aspects I had not considered before.

Day 2 - Aug 08by SJCarterComment: like the way your glasses stand out, makes it a really quirky shot. Neatly taken, very crisp with great catchlights in your eyes. |

companionsby photokariangelComment: fantastic shot! :] heres what I like about it:
The way your both facing towards the window, and the light from it is highlighting you.
The way the bear is sitting on the chair and you on the floor so it evens heights.
The compostition, as it makes you look really small, the bear signifying this too.
The 'spotlight' your both sitting in .
The wall itself; its vastness, the lines and scratches and marks across it- its really powerful, even daunting.
Finnaly the way this tells a story; however you interpret it:
Feeling trapped in a situation, maybe its too big and imposing to handle; feeling very small inside, looking for the light- a way out.
This is a really original shot and I truly love it :]

Day 1- EMERGEby RingostarrComment: Great shot; and good positioning of hands- their angle and placing- it makes the image look realistic. |

*lol*by WyrdlingComment: fun shot; like the link between your pose and your top :]
I think your hair also really adds to the shot, the way you've put it up keeps it from your 'left' eye, while your fringe glops (glops?! i meant flops...) over you right so you are looking out through it, adding to the whole theme of the image. Message edited by author 2008-08-02 07:07:39. |
