Skip by PaulComment: Great shot Paul, I didn't vote on this one but I had a flick through the entries, this one stood out to me for it's good composition and great exposure. Really nice shot, especially under minimal editing restrictions. Well deserved ribbon |

Free willby gyabanComment: I'm quite surprised that a reflector right over to one side would be considered a major element. Shame as it's great work as always Christoph. Don't let a small suspension get you down, I look forward to seeing more of your creative flare soon!! |

Fashionby TomCubisComment: way too tight on the composition, cutting off the foot. Processing's not too flattering on the skin either with hot spots in the highlights and grain in the shadows. |

knowing the secretby smardazComment: I really like this one, like to composition, lighting from the window, lots of depth from shallow DOF as well as the lighting. I just wish the face looked sharper. Not sure why its not looking sharp as the hand and the brick behind looks sharp so I can only assume is motion on the subject? |

Boy on the Beachby kevip6Comment: Thanks for all the comments
In response to Jedusi's very detailed comment - I did consider the foot in the composition but it did look better with it cropped out, I was very aware of the foot but it just felt better with the slight crop, it was almost like I'd squeezed him in with the full foot
Included but as soon as it was slightly cropped it felt much more like a compositional choice and so worked better? It's an interesting point though, I was expecting a lot more comments on the foot though
I've had the g11 for a couple of months now and apart from the actual handelling being far more awkward then the 5d in terms of focus, etc.. The output quality is very good. I'd happily print the pictures at 20" and the quality would be great. The main advantage really is the off camera flash capability. It's fantastic.
Thanks again |
