One of my Irish Wolfhounds, backlit in a patch of late afternoon sunlight. Fill flash was the onboard flash, diffused with a Gary Fong Puffer.
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), lightened original and merged tonemapped layer at 20% transparency, levels, monochrome, cloned out bright spots and one light stem and a bit of lens flare in background, dodged eyes, vignette, resized, sharpened, added border. |

| This is so wonderful. Excellent preservation of detail for such a high contrast shot. The ray of sun is beautiful and the doggy's pose and contre jour are delicious. |

| Hands down the best one that's popped up so far. I would seriously give it a 10 but didn't want to "cheat" since I know it's yours. The diagonal line of light leads us right back to her. The hint of back lighting around her head - perfection. I love the title too. Good luck Mary. This is certainly a winner in my book! |
