Sunny Morningby KatheComment: Hi from the Critique Club!
Lighting:
The natural lighting seems to fill the place nicley, the exposure caught this light well. I don't see any overexposures that are sometimes common with natural lighting. This image does need some contrast in my opinion, but I am not sure that would help too much with the blandness of the grass. Which leads me on to...
Composition:
The grass seems to be over-bearing for this picture. It fills up most of the frame wildly, with no particular notion to a study. The image seems flat to me with the flat on angle.
Focus: Your image foreground seems to be in focus with a DOF to the bg.
Keep in mind this is just my two cents and I def want to keep encouraging you to take lots and lots of pictures.
Good luck in the future!

Mystery potionby sessaComment: Hi from the Critique Club!
Technically speaking you have done a fine job with this photo. Nice DOF especially and the exposure is real clean. I don't see anything too over or too over exposed. I bet your histogram is happy (hehe camera jokes) I do notice a little loss of quality/clarity on the table portion that is in focus. Not sure what caused it, maybe the camera, maybe not, not something I would expect at ISO 100 in the daytime.
The object placement is nice and interesting enough for me to enjoy the photgraph, but for "Magic and Mystery" one would expect something a little darker and a little more mysterious to bump the votes a bit. Maybe some swirling dye in the bottles but I understand something like that may be out of the question if you don't want to wreck the capping on your bottles.
But like I said, I like this photo and I think you are on the right track, but it my not have been Magical or Mysterious enough for the voters.
Good job overall!

Siragon Self Portraitby lunasebuComment: Hi from the Critique Club!
Nice image you have here and welcome to the DPC challenges!
The composition is good, but maybe you could get a different crop to where the camera isn't too much in the center. I like to color and I think the colors would have popped more with a sharper focus. I also think it would have helped with the defining of the "hair" to stand out more from strand to strand. Also, the reflection on the camera is a little distracting. Furthermore, I think a noise reduction would help this image.
Overall, I think you have a pretty good idea here and with a little work I think this could be a really neat image.
Keep up the good work!

Endless Peas Into a Paper Cupby LoreneComment: Hi from the Critique Club!
Nice image you have here.
The composition is nice, the displacement of the peas looks random, making it easier for the eye to see the action.
One thing I think this photo is lacking IMO is a little contrast. The whites and blues in the sky are similar to the whites and blues of the cup. The peas kinda bring up the contrast but I would have liked to see more green, more focus on the peas. You could maybe experiement with some different shutter speeds.
Def. fits the challenge.
Other than those minor details, I think this is a lovely image :) |

Pea-Can Pieby deputydogComment: Hi from the Critique Club!
I think this photo was a good idea but I think the execution could use a little work.
First, I think this photo is pulled down with all the dark and drab colors in the background. Nothing really pops in my opinion. The image seems too busy and my eyes just go all over the place, only to lead back to the piles of peas depicted on the can.
Second, the use of your elements along with someone else's picture on the can is sort-of making this image fall short of the mark. The angle is unimaginative.
The focus is really sharp though. With a little more work you could have a really great image.
That's just my two cents.
