To be honest, I've never seen this movie. The movie was suggested by a friend who has seen it. I'd originally planned to use "On Golden Pond" but figured there might be a lot of those. This was taken just after we'd returned from a lovely cruise around the lake. My sister-in-law had made a wonderful breakfast which we packed up and took with us for the "cruise". 'Twas a lovely morning!

Post processing - crop, slight rotate, levels, desat, sharpen, resize, border.

I love boat photos and this one is excellent. What a perfect line of boats.

I gave a 6 on this one. It didnt scream the movie to me but I liked the pic. This and your free study entry are interesting captures of cool lines and good b&w treatment. Both nice sidesteps from what I would normally expect from a Melethia picture.

Trading post...
Again, you have the eye. Lovely lines and shadows. Love the black and white. The shine on the water is wonderful. Undervalued as usual.

You have a good eye for composition. Unfortunately, I never saw the movie so I couldn't relate the picture to the scene....

I overlooked the interesting composition and DOF here on the first look. It's a great photo with a less than perfect fit to the challenge.

Nice repeating lines on both sides, and good tones.

I didn't see the movie but am familiar with John Candy. I imagine it was a comedy? If that is the case, color, bright beautiful crazy color, would help set the mood better. B/W is so serious.
Otherwise, this is a nice picture with good composition.

Really nice shot. I like the repeating pattern of the boats and the black & white is excellent.

Most excellent, this looks like a postcard from the 1950's at a city lake. Well done.

Lovely.. a little more constrast would be nice... as it is.. it is beautiful..

Composition can be improved a little. .. the photo cuts off at the top without showing the skyline.. makes the photo a little incomplete..

The platform on the top right looks cut off too.. that reinforce the imcompletness of the photo..

but this is one of the better shot I've seen in this challenge.. so.. a 7 for me..

I haven't seen it, so I'll go by the title and the IMDB description that this is a representation of one of the scenes. I like how the boats fade off into the distance.

The picture is well composed and has a good DOF. I would've chosen a movie like INDIAN SUMMER or another film where canoes where used though. Also, SUMMER RENTAL was a comedy, there isn't really anything about this photo that channels humor. Wish it was in color.
