I must admit, this photo came up as the first thumbnail for me, and my absolute FIRST thought was "oh I'm screwed" (re: my own challenge entry). Great lighting, colour, DOF control.

This is one of only two images that I rated a 10, and I honestly like this one just a little bit better. I love the lines, the colour, the lighting, the dof. It's just... yummy. It really is. It wouldn't be the same image without the S curve, and actually, I think this is the first time I've really *noticed* that an S curve really *makes* the image. Also, the shadow is awesome. This whole image is awesome, and you deserve to eat some cookies or something 'cause this is really great.

I think I'm not going to vote on this image, and only comment. Mostly because, for me, this image falls into "does not meet challenge" world. But if you really really stretch it, I guess it kinda does, but only a little itty-bitty bit.
That said, DOF is great, contrast is perfect, yada yada. I really like the image itself, but I don't feel like it meets the challenge. A minor gripe is that the border is noticably uneven.

Perhaps an extreme macro shot of the pen only would have been a more interesting shot, I know I wished for a pen like this for this challenge. This image is so dark, and the eye doesn't focus on any one spot.

I can see that he's holding a paper, but somehow this just looks like a snapshot to me and I feel like the photo is trying to be crammed into the challenge topic. The photo also looks slightly off-level.
