The story in the photo is this: a group of guys (Norwegian, I think) were walking down the street, apparently after a few happy drinks. At one place they stopped and asked one of them to take a group picture. The guy dug out a compact and slowly and carefully lied down on the street to get a better angle. I happened to pass by and had a one second window to take the shot. So, the group was not posing for me, which may qualify the photo as a candid. On the other hand, they were laughing and looking straight into my lens, so there was nothing candid about the scene and the guys were quite easy about someone photographing them.
I agree about tilt and all, but personally I like the spontaneity of the moment.

The Study of Astrologyby JunieMoonComment: Good contrast, but a bit too much detail for my taste. Maybe just the sphere shot against the sky would have yielded a clearer, easier to digest, image? |
