Great shot, very surreal. The shadows really enhance that effect. The clouds are wonderful, was this shot at night?

Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): I'd crop the top down a little more. While the sky is beautiful the house is really the interesting part of the picture. Right now the sky is a bit overpowering.

The great thing about Photoshop is there are always 100 an 1 ways to do something. Some other things you could have tried would be...
Use the burn tool set to Highlights
Select the roof and adjust it via level or curves
Adjust it with variations
Adjust it with shadows/highlights
After you burn it, use the saturation brush
Used Hue and Saturation to adjust both the lightness and the saturation of the roof at the same time.

It sounds like your method worked well though - these are just some alternatives to play around with. I'm sure there are others as well but this should get you started :)

Well I hope to never visit you at your work and if I did at least I'm comforted to know you'd be putting me to sleep.

Interesting building. I like the way the shadow of the sign hits the ground.

I'm not very fond of the color balance though. I think it works for the concrete but the green in the sky is a little odd. Maybe try it as a duotone.

wow, you may not have done a whole lot to it but you still did a wonderful job processing this. It has a very magical "Fairy Land" sort of feel to it.

The only thing I'd change is to maybe burn down the roof of the barn a bit, with it so bright and fairly centered it detracts a little from the wonderful leaves.

Very pretty colors. I like the way the plants silhouette against it, really brings it all together.

I'd maybe crop a bit of the top off though, seems a bit heavy on the bottom otherwise and there's a little bit of vignetting in the corners.

Very nice tones, the image looks very rich. I like it a lot.

I'd prefer it a bit wider I think though so more of the factory was in the shot. The chaos in the sky is wonderful though.

I imagine many of us truly "live" in front of our computers, I know I do.

Not a bad shot, seems fairly well lit. The only thing I would have done different is turned off the desk lamp so as to not get the yellow light mixing on the wall.

Wow, that's quite the view. I et it gets quite the glare from the other building at times.

I really like the colors. It would be interesting to see this with HDR applied to it so the base was a little brighter.

Is that really the color of the train? The trains near my house are all boring rust colored.

The selective desat does a good job of making the train stand out but the grays are a little flat. Maybe bump the contrast on everything but the train up a little bit.
