Man, I love your style. Those clouds are just crazy! Was this the middle of the night? If not, how'd you keep the house from blowing out completely?
BTW, I came looking for your port, but had "where I live" in my head and missed this collection entirely! |

Catching up here (I hope), I really like this shot, very surreal effect, and very effective, and I like the shadow of the unseen tree to the left, very nice. |

Reminds me of the 50s, for some subtle reason. Your photo deals in hints and, for me, seems all that more powerful for doing so. The 1-20 is a lens that yields drama. I think I need something similar. |

Very dramatic - I love it! It almost looks like a movie set. Where is this? I mean, where do you live?
Edit: I just read some of the other posts and apparently a bunch of other people also think it looks like a movie set. So much for my original idea - haha!

Love the sky, looks like it was painted on, I don't think the crop is odd at all, think it works very well. |

Excellent crop emphasizing that sky. It really gives a dynamic feel to an image which is otherwise anything but. My only nitpick is that the cacti seem a bit soft and could use more bite. |

Nothing wrong with odd. That's one of the reasons I sighned up for this 30 day thing. I can post what I like and not worry about votes. Try lots of differant things.
Great shot. |

I like it very much too. The low pitch of the rooftop - looks midcentury modern. With the opposed upline of the cactus. The sky adds a diagonal line of it's own. GOOD STUFF HERE. I love the BW thing you're doing. |

Very creative cropping and the diagonals in the sky put a lot of energy into this. |

Great shot, very surreal. The shadows really enhance that effect. The clouds are wonderful, was this shot at night?
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): I'd crop the top down a little more. While the sky is beautiful the house is really the interesting part of the picture. Right now the sky is a bit overpowering. |

I like the angle of looking at the house, the sky makes me think of the twilight zone so thats good. |

Good Lord! Apocalyptic. I like the dark tone here and the grain/noise level that lends a film noir feel to this. The low angle creates an extra distortion that also unbalances the viewer - really nice job. |

The shadows are a bit perplexing at first until it sinks in that this is shot at night and the shadows are the result of a street lamp, probably located pretty much directly behind the camera's position. Sky be wicked! |

Nice minimal composition. Black and white works well for the textures and tones of the image. You must have an lcd monitor? Image appears a bit soft on focus, but I use a crt so it could be just the way our monitors show an image. |

wot lisa iamwoman said ...
i was looking at this photograph and couldnt quite put my finger on the feeling i was getting from it .... movie set comes close (probably coz of the shadows of the plants) ... very flat ... and that's not a bad thing ..
its an interesting image, and the shadows of the plants and that amazing sky make it just about surreal .. |
