Subtle Presenceby leafComment: Meets challenge. I fear it is, indeed, too subtle to garner high numbers. Would have been an interesting submission for "Texture." |

Will I Burn?by shareinncComment: Soft focus and abstract concept will not give you high numbers with DPC voters. Interesting idea, but you will need to keep trying. |

Miredby OlyuziComment: Meets challenge. Ugly subject, and DPC voters generally do not like that. Focus a bit soft. Work on more attractive settings, and be careful within the limits of your camera's ability. |

Earth, wind and fireby johnmComment: OK, fits the challenge. You must recognize that DPC voters prefer attractive subjects...so find a couple for the next challenge and your numbers will rise. |

Sunrise, Santa Cruzby ronnersComment: Almost all DPC voters expect a sunrise to be bursting with colors. Your photo would probably have placed much higher with some great California colors. Santa Cruz is a great area...do continue submitting local photographs. |

Up Element Creekby cabaComment: Shooting into the sun is tricky but you avoided serious sun flare. The picture needs a clear focal point for the eye. Keep working on composition. |

unscheduled drydockby timboydwhiteComment: Meets the challenge, and decent DOF. Problem is, bottom of a beached boat is not really an attractive subject. Also, photo seems to be tilted to the left a bit. You live in an attractive area so keep shooting and your numbers will get higher. |

Candied Water Dropsby RHoldenSrComment: This water drop effect has been over-used on DPC, and will not get high votes. Your effort meets the challenge but the water drop images are not crisp enough, nor numerous enough. Keep experimenting...you are on the right track. |

3S - Sand, Sea and Skyby oksamitComment: Earth, water, air - fits the challenge like a glove. Will not score well because there is not much of interest to attract the eye. A seagull, dog, human would help. And most people expect blue water and blue sky. |

Looking Backby TerryGeeComment: Way back in 1959, Terry, I bought a new Coupe de Ville with these fantastic tail fins. Would be a wild car today to drive around where we live in central Mexico. |
