Free Your Mindby sherComment: Well done. A nice tableau to think about in a mass of black. Like the irony of the title and the hand \'holding\' the wires that have a \'hold\' on the mind. The whites pop a little too much for my taste. Nice colors. With your set-up you convey a lot with an economy of props. I always like that. 8
On second thoughts, and after having tweaked my votes, i'm upping this to a 9. I really like your message here and the way you presented it even though the popping whites still bother me (even in the thumbnail. 9 |

mechabstractionby nomoreschiComment: Very nice abstract and i just LOVE abstracts. Great colors, great lighting, great 'motion-like' effect in top right, nice blurring. All yummy, yummy to me. Hey, and thanks for not showing sunglasses and a red&blue pill (didn't see the movie but after having voted on all submissions i understand they figured BIG in the movie :) 10 |

Surprise!by jjbeguinComment: Very nice collage and spooky (old Bill always gives me the creeps :) Nicely orchestrated, nice colors. Nitpick: would have done without the 1-2 px green stroke because it just makes the image unduly busy. There's already a lot going on as is and i would have just let the image fade into a black border. I can't figure out the significance of the old-fashioned telephone which has a prominent place here but maybe that was in the movie (which i didn't see). 8 |

Takeoverby AaronComment: Very slick. Very creepy. I like it! I might have cropped some of the black on the left off because it shifts the overall balance to the left away from the face. Then again, the image isn't just about the face. Some of the light lighting around the nose and cheek bother me a little but i'm very forgiving when i'm being pleased.
BTW, normally i leave a score with my comments and i had forgotten it here. It got a 9 from me (update 5/28) Message edited by author 2003-05-28 21:23:50. |

Into The Rabbit Holeby GreggeNComment: Good image, good portrait in relation to the challenge. It might have been cool if you could have put just a bit more light on the hands to clearly show the red and blue pill significance but keeping the light on the face just as is. Overall i like the darkness and, much to my own loss in a prior submission, i do like dark images :) 8 |

touching the mirrorby tomzinhoComment: Unsure what the relevance of this image is to the challenge but since i didn't see the movie who am i to judge? :) This is a simple but the distortion of the reflection in the mirror is great. 7 |

The Hungerby TarbiniComment: Don't see why this needed a Red Admin Note :) Poor model. Nice and creepy. 8 |

Access Grantedby 'PongComment: Nice and creepy. I like it! If you ask me, and i may be entirely wrong, i see a bit of foolery here :) A cutout cardboard figure and one of those industrial glass vases (i used one once for a submission) set on a nice reflective surface such as a highly polished table, glass, or a mirror. Just guessing. Would have liked it more if the top green shape would have been blackish as well to keep my eye on the center. 8 |

Mommy said it was ten o'clock when green eye turned my world upside down.by sg10Comment: Am wondering whether this is a shot of two pictures. The top one definitely is but the bottom reads like a picture of a picture as well and therefore i like it a little less. Titles never enter my scoring but i don't particularly care for titles that read like a book in order to understand the submission. 7 |
